To the people who are wondering why Goons continues on making posts to point out what BoB is doing wrong:
Why are we doing this?
It's simple, really. We believe that BoB can do better than what they have shown so far, and we want them to do it.
Why?
Because the only reason we are here is to have good, challenging and enjoyable battles.
The BoB fighter swarm was awesome. They took an off-hours fleet of ours by relative surprise and I think we actually lost the field afterwards. Our guys immensely enjoyed that, as they felt like they were up against large odds and fought to the last ship. Very exciting, actually, as shown by the enthusiasm felt by everyone that logged in the next day.
What else did that result in?
We had to figure out how to deal with fighter swarms in the most effective manner, counting on the fact that BoB could and would hopefully bring in a more powerful swarm. Very stimulating discussions went on and we had strategies that we decided to pursue and test. We did, they were successful.
What did we hope for?
We hoped that BoB had their own move to play, and this is where we got disappointed. There was none. After the initial fighter swam died out, the resistance ran out of steam. We see that BoB is setting up POS purely for delaying tactics, but it is not delaying us as much as it ought to. They have also shown some rather bad judgment calls in the field, such as going after an officer spawn fully knowing that they were being stalked, resulting in needless losses on their part. This is evidence of no coherent leadership in the theater of battle.
I do offer my thanks to the BoB pilots that did fight a seemingly hopeless battle to sustain their POS in QY6. Local was very clean and I hope they found enjoyment in spite of their losses.
What I do not like is that overall BoB strategy seems to be to resist Goonwarm by use of NPCs: POS, fighters. We do not particularly like fighting towers, as they are practically like fighting NPC rats although some of the POS did drop better loot. Fighters are a little better because someone is at least controlling them in some level. However, this is bound to fail because NPCs have no capability to improve or learn from success or failure. Thus won or lost battles on BoB's part will make them no better or wiser.
We've lulled our opponents into a false sense of confidence. Oh, yes. Everything is going according to plan. Those fools, they think they can win... by winning. |
